My Eyes Are Bigger Than My Stomach

I have a bad habit of trying to bite off more than I can chew. What stuck out to me in chapter 2 is that "Academe and professional communities prefer gradual advances that build on and preserve conventional practices and knowledge over paradigm shifts that overturn what has gone before (Kuhn 1962)" (Hughes & Hayhoe, 2008, p. 31). I have been in the process of starting my research for my master's thesis, and before I read this chapter, I worried I wouldn't have enough information. After reading this chapter, I realized I need to focus my topic more. Right now, I have hordes of research to read but no clear picture of the question I am actually trying to answer. For example, I don't need to try and prove that everything on Youtube uses narrative. That is an insane amount of research to do. However, I can look at a few YouTubers who use narrative and how that might draw subscribers to their channel. I have a long way to go, but this chapter made it seem more pal...

This is the Greatest Test!

Once upon a time, I really enjoyed The Greatest Showman , hence the name of this blog post.
